Casa Noble Marques de Casa Noble Tequila is the pinnacle of tequila production from this excellent tequila producer. This ultra-premium tequila is made from only the finest raw ingredients (100% Blue Agave) and is aged in carefully selected French oak barrels. It is presented in a smart, decanter-style bottle.
Casa Noble Tequila was founded in 1997 by Maestro Tequilero Jose “Pepe” Hermosillo, David Ravandi and Carlos Hernandez to produce elegant, premium Tequila. Casa Noble has existed in various forms since the 1700s. Jose “Pepe” Hermosillo’s family has been producing Tequila for seven generations, so there is plenty of Tequila heritage to draw upon. Investment from Mexican guitarist Carlos Santana in 2011 coupled with the 2010s Tequila boom and Casa Noble became a serious brand for Tequila lovers. Constellation Brands eventually bought the brand in 2014 where it now sits alongside illustrious stablemates like High West Whiskey.
The company farms some 3000 acres of agave fields located on the hills around the city of Tequila itself, in the region of Jalisco. The fields are located principally on slopes and hillsides, which stresses the plant, and the company believes it produces a more complex-tasting agave plant. The rich, volcanic soils here are also said to produce the finest Blue Weber Agave cacti.
Mature agave planted are hand-harvested, by jimadors, when they are 10 years old. Their hard cores (the piñas or “pineapples”) are then slowly steam cooked in stone ovens for an extra-long period of 36 hours which produces deeper, sweeter, slightly smoky and much more complex flavours than other brands. This cooking process converts complex carbohydrates to fermentable sugars. The pinas are then shredded and gently pressed in a screw mill and the sweet juice (mosto) is fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel vats for 5 days. After fermentation, the mosto is then distilled three times. Most Tequila is only distilled twice. This is said to produce the cleanest, highest quality and smoothest spirit.
Casa Noble Marques de Casa Noble Tequila is a blend of 21 different tequilas: nine anejos and twelve extra anejos. These are aged between one and five years in only the best, hand-selected barrels from the Allier region of France. This is all carried out personally under the watchful eye of Maestro Tequilero Jose “Pepe” Hermosillo. Hermosillo selected the tree that would be used to make the barrels. After the barrels were made they were left in the French forest to dry and age for two years before being moved to a US cooperage where they were toasted and aged for an additional year.
Bottled at 40% ABV.
Casa Noble Anejo Tequila is certified organic by the USDA and was the first Tequila distillery certified organic by the California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) – no fertilizers or chemicals in the cultivation of its blue agave or the distilling process. The annual production is around 150,000 litres.
Casa Noble Marques de Casa Noble Tequila presents a rich and sweet nose, with prominent notes of vanilla, cinnamon, brown sugar, honey, caramel, and a hint of cocoa powder, all underscored by the grassy, earthy character of the agave that is not lost despite the extended ageing. On the palate, the tequila opens with a pop of orange, followed by baking spices like allspice and nutmeg, and then layers of cherry syrup and dark chocolate, complementing the pronounced agave sweetness and hints of peach and roasted nuts. The finish is smooth and indulgent, bringing black pepper and grassy notes to the surface, alongside lingering hints of white chocolate, pecan, and almond, A sophisticated, balanced conclusion to this complex, smooth and enjoyable Tequila.
The ultimate sipping Tequila.
