This is a brilliant assortment of wines for a dinner party, a great corporate present or a gift for someone special. This selection includes a light sparkling Prosecco to get the party started, a fresh, tropical NZ Sauvignon Blanc and a fuller, richer South African Chardonnay. The two reds are classics, a Bordeaux and a Rioja, and there is also a bottle of Niepoort Ruby Port to round the evening off, or to enjoy with a cheese board.

Sparkling

1 bottle Nederburg Premiere Cuvee Brut, Foundation Collection

Excellent South African sparking wine. Brilliantly clear with a lasting sparkle. The nose has delicate floral / fruit aromas leading to a crisp palate with a fresh and lingering aftertaste.

White

1 bottle Le Bonheur Chardonnay, Simonsberg Stellenbosch

Medium-bodied, fresh and dry wine. It has a golden yellow colour with green hints. The nose has aromas of lime and citrus with dried peaches and vanilla. The palate is rich and creamy with more subtle citrus and dried fruit flavours. These delightful flavours are balanced with vanilla tones which create the lingering, refreshing finish.

1 bottle Palliser Estate Pencarrow Sauvignon Blanc, Martinborough

Brilliant pale straw colour with slight green hues. The nose is aromatic and intense dominated by white floral, blossom, gooseberries, hints of citrus / lime, passionfruit and herbaceous notes. The palate is packed with soft, rich flavours of passionfruit, limes and more grass / herbal notes enlivened by a fresh acidity. The palate is long, lingering and full with more gooseberry and grassy notes.

Red

1 bottle Chateau Clos Bourbon Cuvée La Rose Bourbon Cadillac Cotes de Bordeaux

A superb value for money Claret, ideal for the Sunday roast or with any red meat dishes or the cheese board. Spicy nose with red fruit notes and a hint of oak. The medium-bodied palate is full of plummy red fruit and raspberries with some spicy, peppery notes. A well-structured, round and fruity wine with soft tannins and a touch of toasty oak on the finish.

1 bottle Fincas de Landaluce Crianza, Rioja Alavesa, Bodegas Landaluce

Good, clear, dark cherry red colour. It has rich and aromatic nose with hints of rich red fruit, spicy, peppery and vanilla notes. The palate is full and complex with layers of of red fruit and smoky / oaky character. It is a savoury and complex wine with fine tannins and a good freshness on the finish.

Port

1 bottle Niepoort Ruby Port

Fresh, young and fruity (lot’s of red cherries and red fruits!). Dark red in colour with a fresh vibrant aroma of dark fruits which follows through on the palate along with an almost mineral character, a youthful wine with good extract and great balance.
