Baron Philippe de Rothschild Mouton Cadet Reserve Sauternes is a blend of Sémillon which gives roundness and refinement to the wine, Sauvignon Blanc giving fresh aromas and fruit and Muscadelle which gives aromatic character.
Mouton Cadet is widely considered to be one Bordeaux’s most successful wine brands and was created in 1934. It was one of the biggest brands in the UK and USA throughout the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. It is, perhaps, not so popular as a brand in the UK but it is still a well known as a prestige brand in many wine markets and the wines are still of very good quality. Philippe Sereys de Rothschild succeeded his mother, the Baroness, as Chair of the Supervisory Board in September 2014 then became Chairman and CEO of the family company in April 2018. He remains determined to further enhance Mouton Cadet’s reputation worldwide to forge forward with the evolution of a great brand. In order to maintain constant quality at the highest level for Mouton Cadet, Baron Philippe de Rothschild has implemented an innovative sourcing policy based on parcel selection and partnerships with winegrowers.
The 2016 Baron Philippe de Rothschild Mouton Cadet Reserve Sauternes is 88% Semillon, 10% Sauvignon Blanc and 2% Muscadelle.
