W & J Graham’s was founded in Oporto, Portugal’s second city, in 1820 by the two brothers William and John Graham and for nearly two hundred years Graham’s Ports have been made by just two families, the Grahams and the Symingtons – in 1970 the Grahams sold the company to the Symingtons who brought with them their own rich heritage in the Port trade.
Graham’s Aged Tawny Ports are crafted from top-quality Port wines, carefully selected and blended, then matured for many years in seasoned oak casks until reaching peak maturity. Producing these demanding styles requires exceptional winemaking skill and experience to perfectly balance the delicate elegance and finesse gained from prolonged cask ageing with the rich, structured fruit character that provides freshness, depth, and remarkable longevity.
The quality and high reputation of Graham’s 20 Year Old Tawny Port rely on beginning with the finest grapes, primarily sourced from five iconic Quintas in the Douro Valley: Quinta dos Malvedos, Quinta do Tua, Quinta das Lages, and two others, Quinta da Vila Velha and Quinta do Vale de Malhadas, which members of the Symington family privately own.
Grahams aged Tawny Ports show a characteristic “nutty” quality and delicious mature honeyed fruit, exquisitely mellowed by ageing in seasoned oak casks, and the Grahams 20 Year Old Tawny Port is no exception.
Grahams 20 Year Old Tawny Port goes extremely well with nuts, dried fruits and fruitcake but also with vanilla ice cream or crème brûlée.
