Description

Uribes Madero is one of the exclusive Castilla-La Mancha wineries belonging to the recently-formed (2003), quality-orientated association, Grandes Pagos (Great Estates) de España.The Estate of Uribes Madero is the result of the marriage and partnership of Francisco Uribes and Celia Madero. Francisco, an architect, runs the business and Celia, a pharmacist, is the oenologist. Their love and pasion for wine has led them to invest heavily in viticulture and wine-making in their finca, Calzadilla. 50% Tempranillo, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Garnacha, aged 12 months in American and French Allier oak casks, and 18 months in bottle. The first wine of the house which well reflects the exotic terroir and its remoteness from recognised wine-making regions.

Tasting Notes

Calzadilla has a reddish / brown colour. It has an intense bouquet of mature fruit and a great variety of spices including clove, peppers and red peppers. Very rich, intense and mature fruit flavours on the palate with oily characteristics, very rounded, almost creamy, and a very long and elegant finish.
