Chateau La Croix Du Duc is a 15 hectare estate located near Lussac St Emilion. The offices of the estate are located in the locality of Perruchon in the city of Lussac Saint Emilion. The wines from Château La Croix du Duc are produced in the neighbouring district, which border with the appellation Lussac is at the end of the rows. The estate has been in the hands of the family Chollet since 1865.
The vines are located on clay and gravelly hillsides facing south west and the planting is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. This is mirrored in the the blend of grapes in the wine. The grapes are harvested mechanically and undergo traditional fermentation in stainless steel vats, then partly aged in oak barrels. The wine is rested in tanks before bottling.
Chateau La Croix Du Duc is a fruit forward, a great value Claret designed for early drinking.

Chateau La Croix du Duc has typical Bordeaux aromas of blackcurrant and some earthy and spicy (liquorice, tobacco) notes on the nose. The palate is fruity with with more blackcurrant flavours and subtle hints of vanilla, spice and cedar. A fruity, supple and soft wine which will improve over three to five years.
