CVNE Contino Reserva Rioja is a wine produced solely from vineyards on the CVNE (CUNE) estate. Vinedos del Contino is one of Spain’s most important wine estates, making wines according to the ‘chateau’ system. Established in 1972, it is a single vineyard estate, producing 4 wines, among them the prized Graciano and Vina del Olivo, maybe one of the best wines made in modern Spain. Winemaker Jesus Madrazo, son of the founder, aims to be at the vanguard of Riojan wine making whilst preserving its established traditions. Contino was one of the few estates that perservered with, and rescued, the Graciano grape from obscurity. CVNE Contino Reserva Rioja is aged in French and American oak for two years and is a blend of 85% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano, 5% Garnacha Tinta and 5% Mazuelo.
