Description

Errazuriz Max VIII is a red wine made with grapes sourced from 8 “Lotes” or vineyard sites in the Valle de Aconcagua. The aim is to show the diversity of the Aconcagua Valley expressed in the 8 Errazuriz vineyards that extend from the mountains to the coast.

Errazuriz Estate was founded in 1870 when Don Maximiano Errazuriz planted his first vineyards at Panquehue in the Aconcagua Valley – 100km North of the capital. Today, the tradition of quality lives on with Don Maximiano’s descendant Eduardo Chadwick. Eduardo has overseen the modernisation of the winemaking technology at this historic Estate whilst maintaining a distinct identity for its wines. Dedicated to producing estate grown wines of superior quality, Errazuriz has built a reputation as the “Premier Family Wine Estate of Chile”.

Errazuriz Vineyards

Errazuriz has vineyards in Maipo, Casablanca and Aconcagua including their Don Maximiano Estate Vineyards and new vineyards at their Aconcagua Costa “Manzanar” Estate. The “Manzanar” Estate is quite new and is located in the coastal sector some 12 kms away from the Pacific Ocean which influences the vineyards in this region with the cool sea breezes. The estate consists of 230 hectares of vineyards planted with grape varieties that prosper in the slightly cooler climate here: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.

Errazuriz Max VIII is a blend of Syrah, Carmenere, Cabernet Sauvigno, Grenache and Mourvedre.

Tasting Notes

Errazuriz Max VIII shows an intense and deep ruby red colour with violet hues. On the nose it displays floral notes reminiscent of violets, then the red fruit appears, raspberry and pomegranate, all elegantly accompanied by soft notes of fine pastry and nuts. The palate is balanced and juicy, with round and elegant tannins. It is lively and has tension, which predicts excellent ageing potential. Very long and persistent on the palate.
