Jules du Souzy Fleurie La Colombère is an elegant and charming cru Beaujolais that captures the very best of the Fleurie appellation. It is crafted from 100% Gamay grapes grown on granitic soils. Jules du Souzy Fleurie Vineyards

The grapes for the Jules du Souzy Fleurie come from the slopes below the Chapelle de la Madone where the soil is granitic with large crystals and areas of sand.

Winemaking

• Hand Harvesting: 100% Gamay grapes are harvested exclusively by hand.
• Whole Bunch Fermentation: Whole bunches are loaded into the fermentation tank.
• Long Maceration: 10–12 days under controlled temperature to enhance color, body, and longevity.
• Bottling: After 8–10 months of aging.

Château de la Terrière: A New Beginning in 2003

The wine is produced by Château de la Terrière from vineyards in Fleurie, one of the most famous Beaujolais Crus. The historic Chateau has stood in Cercié since the 16^th century and is one of the oldest estates in the region.

After belonging to successive generations of aristocrats, Château de la Terrière was bought in 2003, and following investment,  important works have been carried out in the cellars and in the vineyards. Today, the manager of the Chateau is Grégory Barbet, the 9th generation of a winegrowers’ family and the owner of Domaine de la Pirolette (located in St Amour).

The winemaker is Yoan Pitoiset, who is also the consultant oenologist for many other prestigious estates in Beaujolais. The Jules de Souzy range is named after Lord Jules de Souzy, who lived in Château de la Terrière during the 19th century and developed its reputation for the fine wines it produced.
