Antica Formula Vermouth is a premium fine red vermouth made in Italy. It represents the pinnacle of vermouth craftsmanship and is based on a recipe found in the Carpano archive dating back to 1786. Antonio Benedetto Carpano, widely recognised as the inventor of Vermouth, created it.
Today this iconic Vermouth is produced by Fratelli Branca Distillerie in Milan. They also make many other famous Italian vermouths including Carpano, Punt e Mes and bitters like Fernet Branca. To produce Antica Formula, local Piedmontese Moscato wines are blended with robust red wines from Sicily as the base wine for the Vermouth. To this, the ‘concia’ is added. The “concia” is a combination of spirits, sugar and a secret herbal infusion of up to 50 herbs and vanilla.
Antica Formula’s flavour profile, subtle, and delicious with unique vanilla notes, is the result of Branca’s love and skills to preserve its unequalled and exclusive products. A rare speciality, unique for its bouquet with vanilla notes. Produced in limited quantities and bottled and labelled a faithful replica of the 1786 original label.
Antica Formula Vermouth is widely recognised as one of the best Vermouths in the world and will elevate your Negroni or Americano cocktails to a new level.
