The Quiet Man 8 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey is a new Irish Whiskey aged in ex-Bourbon oak casks and bottled in Derry, Northern Ireland.
It is the first release of an Irish whiskey by liqueur producer and brand owner Niche Drinks. Niche Drinks is currently building a new £15 million distillery and visitors centre in Campsie, which will eventually supply the company with all its own spirit. Currently, the whiskey is sourced from one of the other large Irish distilleries with whom Niche Drinks has a long-standing supply contract.
The Quiet Man Irish Whiskey is named after the managing director , Ciaran Mulgrew’s father. According to the bottle, Mulgrew’s father, John Mulgrew, was a bartender for 50 years, a man who saw a lot of things and heard a lot of stories. Like all good bartenders, he was true to his code and told no tales, he was “The Quiet Man” or, as they say in the Irish, “An Fear Ciuin”.
The whiskey for the Quiet Man 8 Year Old is a single malt Irish whiskey sourced from one of the best distillers in Ireland and then aged in some carefully selected, finest, and only first-fill, ex-Bourbon barrels, where it is aged for 8 years. Chill-filtered and bottled at 40%
