Errazuriz Estate Series Pinot Noir is part of the Errazuriz estate series range of wines and is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes sourced from the Aconcagua Valley DO.
Errazuriz Estate was founded in 1870 when Don Maximiano Errazuriz planted his first vineyards at Panquehue in the Aconcagua Valley – 100km North of the capital: today, the tradition of quality lives on with Don Maximiano’s descendant Eduardo Chadwick. Eduardo has overseen the modernisation of the winemaking technology at this historic Estate whilst maintaining a distinct identity for its wines. Dedicated to producing superior quality, estate-grown wines, Errazuriz has built a reputation as the “Premier Family Wine Estate of Chile”.
Errazuriz has vineyards in Maipo, Casablanca and Aconcagua including their Don Maximiano Estate Vineyards and new vineyards at their Aconcagua Costa “Manzanar” Estate. The “Manzanar” Estate is quite new and is located in the coastal sector some 12 km away from the Pacific Ocean which influences the vineyards in this region with the cool sea breezes. The estate consists of 230 hectares of vineyards planted with grape varieties that prosper in the slightly cooler climate here: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.
Errazuriz Estate Series Pinot Noir is designed to show each grape variety’s and terroir’s true character in its chosen wine-producing zone. The grapes for the Estate Pinot Noir are grown in the Aconcagua Valley, a coastal region in Chile renowned for its cool climate. The vineyards here are located on the northeastern slopes of the Coastal Range, where Pacific Ocean breezes and morning fog provide the perfect conditions for cultivating Pinot Noir.
After harvest the grapes for Estate Series Pinot Noir were destemmed, crushed, and deposited into open-topped stainless steel tanks for fermentation. 50% of the wine was later aged in French oak barrels for 6 months.
This wine is suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
Errazuriz Estate Series Pinot Noir presents delicate aromas of red fruits such as strawberries, cherries, and plums. It is fresh and juicy on the palate, with an elegant structure and bright acidity.
Enjoy with light pastas, fish, and all types of shellfish. It also works well with pizza, chicken dishes and mature creamy cheeses.
Great with lamb chops and grilled vegetables.
Aconcagua is situated within the Valparaíso Region of Chile and is renowned for its diverse range of wines. The region is composed of four distinct wine districts: Casablanca Valley, Aconcagua Costa, Aconcagua Valley, and Leyda Valley.
It is named after both the province of San Felipe de Aconcagua and the towering Aconcagua mountain. Indeed, the region benefits from the mountain’s snowmelt runoff which provides essential water for the vineyards.
While Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot dominate, the area has earned recognition for its excellent Pinot Noir and Syrah. The region has also made significant strides in white grape cultivation, especially Sauvignon Blanc, in coastal areas.
