Pyrat XO Reserve Rum is a blend of 15-year-old rums perfectly balanced to produce an exceptionally elegant, smooth and delicious medium-bodied rum, complemented by a rich amber color. The production of Pyrat rums adheres to unique and traditional aging and blending specifications, resulting in an elegant and distinctive ultra-premium spirit.

Pyrat Rums, a Carribean Blend

Pyrat Rums are a precise blend of nine carefully selected Caribbean barrel-aged pot still rums. Pot stills produce a distinctively rich, flavorful rum, whereas other column still rums tend to produce a more neutral alcohol product. These rums are sourced from across the Carribean region and are aged separately in a combination of French Limousin oak barrels and specially toasted American sweet oak barrels. They are then brought together and blending is overseen by master distiller & blender Francisco Alcaraz (of Patron Tequila fame).

Solera Aged Rum

After blending the rums are then aged further in a solera system (there is some more information about ageing rum in a solera system here), a system of fractional ageing. Some of the rum in the final blend is very old, which helps to produce flavor complexities not found in most other rums. The rum is bottled in Guyana.

Pyrat XO Reserve Rum Bottle

The Pyrat XO Reserve Rum bottle is designed to be reminiscent of the old rum bottles hoarded and traded by pirates and ship captains of the 1800s. Each bottle is hand-bottled and hand-numbered. The bottle also features a metal pendant with a Hoti Buddhist Monk on it. Considered the god of contentment and happiness, the Hoti (pronounced Ho-tie) monk is the patron saint and Zen protector of bartenders. Pyrat XO is created in the spirit of Hoti.
