Cigar Profile:
Cohiba Mini Cigarillos are the smallest cigars in Cohiba’s range and are perfect for a quick 10 minute smoke. The tobacco used for these Cuban Mini cigars is harvested from the same plants used for Cohiba’s world-famous, premium, handmade Havana cigars. Other small Cohiba Cigars include the Cohiba Clubs, Shorts and Wide Shorts.
Like other Cuban Minis (Partagas and Romeo Y Julieta available to buy at Fareham Wine Cellar), these are machine-made using the tobacco leaves taken from the same plants that are harvested to produce the tobacco for Cohiba’s premium Havana cigars. These plants are grown in the Vuelta Abajo region in Cuba, an area located west of the island, which is widely regarded as the finest tobacco-growing land in the world.
These slim and short Cohiba Mini Cigarillos still have some of the same superb Cuban flavour as the more expensive handmade cigars, and are ideal for the inexperienced smoker. Great for a quick, quality smoke, perhaps for a pre-dinner aperitif cigar or over a cup of coffee. An affordable taste of Cuba.
Cohiba Cigars is the flagship Cuban Cigar brand of Habanos S.A. and was created in 1966. It was formally launched in 1968, for President Fidel Castro, and the cigars were made at the then top-secret, now world-famous, El Laguito factory (although today some of the cigars are now made at the Partagas factory).
Originally, Cohiba Cigars were only ever for the use of high-ranking government officials and for giving away as gifts to heads of state and visiting diplomats. The Cohiba Cigar brand was first launched outside of Cuba at the 1982 Football World Cup in Spain.
The name Cohiba derives from the ancient Taino Indian word for the bunches of tobacco leaves that Columbus first saw being smoked by the original inhabitants of Cuba, the earliest known form of a Habano.
Cohiba Minis deliver smooth, creamy notes, spicy undertones, and hints of grass, coffee, and nuts. The smoke starts with a subtle sweetness and evolves into earthy and spicy tones. Towards the end is a lingering coffee-like richness.
Perfect with a Bourbon or Rum. Great with a quick cup of coffee or with a pre-dinner aperitif.
