Torres 10 Gran Reserva Brandy, known colloquially as “Torres 10” was created in 1946 by Miguel Torres Carbó. The company had been distilling in Barcelona since 1928 Juan Torres Casals when began to make aged brandy from the best white wines of Penedès. 

Torres was founded in 1870 and remains family-owned nearly some 150 years later.  The Torres family has been making wine in the ancient Catalán town of Vilafranca del Penedès, south-west of Barcelona, since the 17th Century. It is this tradition combined with innovation, dynamism and commitment to quality that has put Torres firmly on the world map. This is Torres’ company’s flagship brandy and sits alongside two other Torres Brandies, the 20 Year Old Hors d’Age and the 30 Year Old Jaime 1. Torres 10 Gran Reserva Brandy is made from the local Catalan grape varieties Macabeu, Parellada and Xarel-lo. Xarel·lo (which is also known as Ugni Blanc in Cognac and Armagnac) provides body and fruity aromas, Macabeo lends its nutty flavour and Parellada provides a delicate acidity. These white grapes are made into a basic white wine which then undergoes a double distillation in copper pot stills, followed by dynamic ageing in Torres’ famous family cellar in hand-made American oak barrels, using the renowned Spanish Solera System.

The meticulous selection of grapes, distillation and prolonged aging in top quality oak casks make Torres 10 Gran Reserva Brandy a spirit of extraordinary flavour and aroma; characteristics that have made it the most widely sold Spanish Brandy in the world.

In 2020 the bottle was completely redesigned and given a smart new label.
