Calvados Henry de Querville is made in the Pay d’Auge region of Calvados by Calvados La Ribaude.
Calvados La Ribaude is made at the Distillerie du Houley which is located at Ouilly du Houley. The distillery is owned by the Deschamps family who, as well as growing apples and distilling Calvados, have also been producing Pommeau, cider and perry for 9 generations. The Deschamps family distillery is situated in the heart of the Pays d’Auge region on a 150 hectare estate, of which two thirds are planted with small, bitter sweet apples which are perfect for making Calvados. They have six stills, both pot and column to produce fresh, vibrant and above all, fruity Calvados from specially selected, small, bitter sweet apples.
Although both pot and column produced Calvados are matured separately, Calvados Henry de Querville is a blend of the two. Producing a spirit with the subtlety of pot still Calvados and the body of column distillate. It is aged for at least 2 years prior to release.
Calvados Henri de Querville is rich, perfumed and nutty, with toffee-apple like aromas and hints of marzipan and herbs.
Perfect drunk neat as an after dinner drink, used for cooking, or as the base for delicious cocktails.
