Discover one of the most distinctive and versatile fortified wines from the Douro – the Niepoort Rabbit Dry White Port. This charming half-bottle is the perfect size for enjoying this excellent dry white Port at home, whether it is served as an aperitif, a refreshing summer drink, or a delightful mixer.
The Rabbit Dry White is the latest evolution of Niepoort’s classic Dry White Port and forms part of the delightful Niepoortland range, alongside Ruby Dum and Tawny Dee. Inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, the beautifully illustrated labels are created by acclaimed Portuguese artist Regina Pessoa.
Made in a traditional and labour-intensive style, the blend of Douro white grapes — primarily Codega, Rabigato, Viosinho, Arinto and Gouveio — undergoes lengthy skin maceration, with occasional foot treading in lagares. Fermentation is taken almost to dryness before fortification with pure grape brandy. The wine then matures for at least three and a half years in small old oak casks in Niepoort’s famous cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia.
Niepoort Rabbit Dry White Port is also available to buy from Fareham Wine Cellar in 75cl bottles.
Half bottles (37.5cl) of Niepoort Rabbit Dry White Port are a very useful bottle size:
Golden, nutty, and wonderfully fresh dry white Port with notes of almond, hazelnut, dried apricot, citrus peel, and a touch of white peach. Vibrant and balanced, it offers a concentrated yet elegant finish.
Perfect served chilled on its own, over ice with a slice of orange or lemon, or as a long drink topped with tonic, a true Portuguese classic with a modern twist.
