E. Guigal Cotes du Rhone Rouge presented in 37.5cl half bottles. Perfect for when a whole bottle is too much (??) and one glass is not enough!
Guigal Wines was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in the village of Ampuis. His son, Marcel, took over from his father in 1961. The Guigal family owns vineyards in Condrieu and Côte-Rôtie with illustrious plots in many famous appellations. The wines are made and aged at 12th century Chateau d’Ampuis located in the northern Rhone. In the summer of 2003, Guigal opened an onsite cooperage to improve quality and control over all aspects of winemaking. The cooperage at the Château d’Ampuis works in partnership with the cooperage at Chagny managed by Seguin Moreau.
Guigal Cotes du Rhone Rouge is the estate’s biggest-selling red wine and it is usually a blend of 50 % Syrah, 40 % Grenache and 10% Mourvedre. The grapes undergo traditional winemaking methods and temperature-controlled fermentation. Long soaking on the skins. Aged for 1 ½ years in oak foudres.
Guigal Côtes du Rhône Rouge half bottles (375ml) offer a convenient option for single servings, or small households, perfect if you only require a couple of glasses of wine. They are also great for sampling wine before committing to a full bottle or pairing different wines with meals. The smaller, half-bottle, size is more portable and great for picnics or alfresco dining.
Also available in 75cl bottles and sometimes 1.5 Litre Magnums.
