The grapes for the Tedeschi La Fabriseria Valpolicella DOC Classico Superiore are sourced from La Fabriseria vineyard within the Valpolicella Classico Region in the Sant’Ambrogio and Fumane communes. The soils here are of clay and calcareous of moraine origin.
Tedeschi Wines can trace their roots back to 1824 when Nicolo Tedeschi purchased several vineyards (although the family has records of owning vineyards back to 1630). A descendant, Riccardo Tedeschi, purchased vineyards in 1918, including Monte Fontana and its famous Amarone vineyard, Monte Olmi.
Tedeschi Wines remains proudly family-run today, blending generations of tradition with a forward-thinking approach to winemaking. One of the Veneto’s foremost estates, Tedeschi is widely regarded as a benchmark producer of Amarone and Recioto, managing 74 hectares of vineyards, 29 of which are family-owned. Amarone della Valpolicella, the region’s most prestigious wine, sits at the heart of their portfolio.
The family has continued to invest in the future, developing exciting new vineyard sites at La Fabriseria in Pontare and Maternigo in the eastern reaches of Valpolicella. With this in mind, Tedeschi La Fabriseria Valpolicella DOC Classico Superiore has been completely “reconceptualised”, reaffirming its roots in the Valpolicella Classico zone while aligning it with the broader vision and philosophy that defines the Tedeschi portfolio today.
Tedeschi La Fabriseria Valpolicella DOC Classico Superiore has a clear and transparent ruby red colour. The nose has hints of black currant, sour cherry, cherry, and prune gives freshness to the wine and is combined with hints of minerals and vanilla. The palate is rich, structured and well-balanced. There is a good concentration and tannic structure balance with a lively acidity and by an alcohol content that insures a good aging potential. The retro-olfaction confirms the nose notes. It is an elegant wine with a long finish.
La Fabriseria is a versatile wine that pairs well with a range of dishes. It complements traditional Italian cuisine like pasta dishes, risotto, roasted meats, and aged cheeses. It can also be enjoyed just as well on its own, allowing its expressive flavours to shine.
