Description

Vina Puebla Seleccion Fermentado en Barrica is a red wine blend made by Bodegas Toribion in the Ribera del Guadiana DO of the Extremadura region of Spain. Ribera del Guadiana is Extremadura’s Denomination of Origin for wine. One of the newest DOs in Spain, it is synonymous with modern, high-quality wines that have developed their own character. The region’s wineries have invested heavily in cutting-edge technology over the last few years. This has enabled them to produce fruit-driven wines and offer extraordinary value for money.Bodegas Toribio is a family owned winery and estate that was established in the middle of the last century. The Matanegra area is characterized by a unique microclimate, soil rich in minerals and is slightly cooler than the other sub-zones of the DO. The estate comprises 60 hectares of vineyards planted with red and white grape varieties such as Tempranillo , Syrah , Common Grenache, Grenache , Cabernet Sauvignon , Graciano , Macabeo and Verdejo. They also manage another 40 hectares of vineyards. Bodegas Toribio have recently completed a vistors centre next to their cellars in Puebla de Sancho Perez, Badajoz. The Vina Puebla Seleccion Fermentado en Barrica is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Garnacha and Syrah aged for 6 months in new oak barrels.

Tasting Notes

Vina Puebla Seleccion has a vivid red colour with violet hints. The nose is reminscent of roasted coffee, minerals notes, pencil box, spicy oak and black fruit. The palate has more black fruit with liquorice character. It is complex, yet soft and supple with sweet tannins and a good long finish.
