Simon Hackett Brightview Pinot Gris is made from grapes sourced from the Adelaide Hills wine-growing region by Simon Hackett.
Simon Hackett Wines is a boutique Australian winery located in the McLaren Vale wine region of South East Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula. Founder and winemaker / owner Simon Hackett comes from a family who have been active in the Australian wine industry for four generations. Hackett has some 8 hectares of estate vineyards and also contracts with growers in McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley and the Adelaide hills which cover another 32 hectares.
The grapes for Simon Hackett Pinot Gris are harvested in the cool, early morning to preserve freshness and aromatic qualities. The grapes are de-stemmed, the juice is then cold settled and fermented in stainless steel vats. After fermentation the wines also undergoes a period of ageing on the lees to enhance complexity and add a touch of creaminess to the wine.
Simon Hackett Brightview Pinot Gris is great match for chicken dishes such as Chicken Caesar Salad and seafood such as swordfish, salmon or scallops.
Simon Hackett Brightview Pinot Gris is a fabulous golden, yellow colour. On the nose there are aromas of lifted, honeyed pear and floral notes. The palate has flavours of stonefruit (peach, apricot) with more pear character. It is well-balanced with good, flinty minerality and a crisp, clean finish.
