Cigar Profile
The Davidoff Signature No 2 Cigar is a long and slender Panatela-sized cigar presented in a cellophone wrapper. Handmade in the Dominican Republic.
Davidoff Cigars is a premium brand of luxury cigars which is headquartered in Basel, Switzerland. They own two cigar factories, one located in the Dominican Republic and one in Honduras, which produce a wide range of cigars made from tobacco grown in the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Brazil, Peru, Mexico, Ecuador, Honduras, and the United States of America.
Davidoff’s most famous cigars include the Aniversario, Signature and Winston Churchill ranges of cigars. Each range is well-known for its distinct flavour profiles and exceptional craftsmanship. Above these are also the ultra-premium ranges such as Grand Cru and Late Hour.
The Davidoff brand was founded by Zino Davidoff, the “King of Cigars” in 1946 in Switzerland when he released his first cigar, the “Chateau Latour”. By the 1960s, Zino was held in such high regard that the Cuban government itself approached him to produce a range of cigars from Cuban tobacco. Eventually, the brand would grow to include pipe tobacco, cigarettes, humidors and a range of luxury accessories. Zino’s philosophy of “smoke less but better” and his zest for life continue to define the Davidoff brand.
Davidoff’s “Signature” range is characterised by mild, elegant aromas and a clean, creamy aftertaste.
The Davidoff Signature No 2 Cigar is made a Connecticut wrapper from Ecuador, the binder is hybrid Connecticut / Habano Seco from Ecuador and the filler is Piloto Seco, San Vincento Seco and Olor Seco from the Dominican Republic. Finished with a “pig tail” cap.
The Signature No 2 is well-known as one of Zino Davidoff’s favourite cigars and is available to buy at Fareham Wine Cellar.
The Davidoff Signature No. 2 is a mild to medium-bodied cigar, well-known for its elegance and balance. The cigar begins with subtle notes of oak, cedar, barley, and delicate florals. As you smoke, a characteristic creaminess develops, joined by richer brown sugar, evolving floral spice, and a hint of white pepper. The final third brings smooth cedar, subtle dried fruit, and a gentle increase in black pepper, finishing with a consistently clean, creamy aftertaste.
A good match for lighter rums and aged brandies. Cognac is a classic pairing with cigars for good reason. Try with Maxime Trijol XO Cognac.
