Cigar Profile:
Cohiba Shorts Cigars are a small cigar, slightly wider than the Cohiba Minis, with a ring gauge of 26, and shorter than Cohiba Clubs. They were first launched in the UK in 2017. The range of Cohiba small cigars was also bolstered with the addition of the Wide Shorts in 2023.
Cohiba is the flagship Cuban Cigar brand of Habanos S.A. and was created in 1966. It was formally launched in 1968, for President Fidel Castro, and the cigars were made at the then top secret, now world famous, El Laguito factory (today some of the cigars are now made at the Partagas factory). Originally Cohiba Cigars were only ever for the use of high-ranking government officials and for giving away as gifts to heads of state and visiting diplomats.
The Cohiba Cigar brand was first launched outside of Cuba at the 1982 Football World Cup in Spain. The name comes from the ancient Taino Indian word for the bunches of tobacco leaves that Columbus first saw being smoked by the original inhabitants of Cuba – the earliest known form of a Habano.
Like the Cuban Minis, these are machine-made in Cuba using the tobacco leaves taken from the same plants that are harvested to produce the tobacco for Cohiba’s premium Havana cigars. These plants are grown in the Vuelta Abajo region in Cuba, an area located west of the island, which is widely regarded as the finest tobacco-growing land in the world.
These are a great, smaller cigar with a superb flavour and are ideal for the inexperienced smoker or someone who is looking for a quick, quality smoke, perhaps for a pre-dinner aperitif cigar or over a cup of coffee.
The smoking time is around 15 minutes and these do not need cutting, they are ready to go. These are medium to full-bodied cigarillos and a very affordable taste of Cuba packaged in the iconic Cohiba yellow and black packaging.
Packed, 10 Cohiba Shorts Cigars in a cardboard outer. Individually cellophane wrapped. No cutter required.
Also available as single cigars.
Full bodied, spicy with creamy character, hints of grass, coffee and nutty notes.
Perfect with a Bourbon or Rum. Great with a quick cup of coffee or with a pre-dinner aperitif.
