Description

Eminente Reserva 7 Year Old Rum is a Cuban rum aged for 7 years. It is a blend of rums from around the island, perfect for sipping or for cocktails and punches. It is a full-bodied and complex rum. Eminente is one of only a handful of cuban rums to be given the coveted ‘denominación de origen protegida’ or DOP Ron de Cuba.

Eminente: Fine Cuban Rum

Eminente Rum is owned by Louis Vuitton-Moët-Hennessy, the owners of Dom Pérignon, Krug, Ruinart, Château d’Yquem, Cheval Blanc, Ardbeg, Glenmorangie, Belvedere, Cloudy Bay et al. The rum is produced under the watchful eye of the youngest Maestro Ronero (Rum Master) on the island of Cuba, César Martí.

There are only 10 Maestros on the island. Cesar learnt his craft from his grandparents and maternal family who, having worked in the sugar industry, passed on to him generations of know-how. He also accomplished reaching the level of Maestro Ronero in just nine years, a feat unmatched to this day.

A New Style of Cuban Rum

Cesar set out to create a new style of Cuban rum for Eminente: one that draws its inspiration from 19th-century Cuban rum, recalling its richness and depth of flavour.

Unique Blend: Eminente Rum combines rums from east and west Cuba for a balanced, complex flavour profile.
Western Rums: Intense, dry, and punchy, ideal for crafting vibrant cocktails.
Eastern Rums: Smooth and fruity, perfect for sipping neat or on the rocks.
Art of Blending: Harmoniously blends robust and smooth aguardientes (Cuban eaux-de-vie) for a refined taste.
Production Process: Distilled from high-quality sugarcane molasses to 75% ABV, creating aromatic eaux-de-vie.
Ageing: Matured for 7 years in ex-whisky white oak barrels, enhancing depth and richness.
Flavour Profile: Offers a complex yet smooth taste with rich aromas, embodying Cuban rum craftsmanship.

Tasting Notes

Eminente Reserva 7 Year Old Rum offers a captivating sensory experience, starting with a nose of freshly roasted coffee, dulce de leche, toasted almonds, and cocoa, accented by subtle floral and fruity notes of caramelised nuts, vanilla, blond tobacco, and a hint of mirabelle plums.

On the palate, it delivers a full-bodied, creamy texture with a harmonious blend of vanilla, smoky unrefined cane sugar, and spicy hints of ginger, Sichuan pepper, and prune, complemented by roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and dried fruits like cherries and dates.

The finish is long and fresh, with creamy chocolate, toasted oak, nuts, and a touch of peppery spice, leaving a lingering sweetness of molasses and pear.
