Turk Gelber Muskateller Beerenauslese is an Austrian dessert wine. The grape variety is Gelber Muskateller which is better known as Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains.
Weingut Turk has remained in the same family for over 300 years, passing from generation to generation since the 18th Century. All of their grapes come from vineyards in the Kremstal Valley. Their 17 hectares of vineyards are located in the middle of one of the oldest cultural landscapes in Austria around the town of Stratzing. Over 75% of their vineyards are planted with Gruner Veltliner, but there are other varieties planted such as Riesling, Chardonnay and some Muscat for this fantastic sweet wine. Many of Turk’s vineyard sites meet the strict quality criteria of the Erste Lage sites, as classified by the Association of Austrian Traditional Wineries.
Turk Gelber Muskateller Beerenauslese is made from late harvested grapes.
This is a great match for all desserts, roasted goose liver, liver pates, foie gras and mild cheese. It is, of course, great on its own. If you want to try something a little different, try it as a long drink with tonic water and ice.
Turk Gelber Muskateller Beerenauslese has seductive aromas of elderflower, peach, lime citrus, nutmeg and blossom honey. The palate has tropical fruits, pineapple and ripe passion fruit. It has a fine sweetness with lively acidity and a good, clean lingering finish.
