Description

Torres Vina Sol is a wine white from the Cataluyna DO. The origin of this wine dates back to the registration of the SOL brand in 1907, on the same day as Torres’ famous Gran Coronas was registered.

The Torres family has been making wine in the ancient Catalán town of Vilafranca del Penedès, south-west of Barcelona, since the 17th Century. It is this tradition combined with innovation, dynamism and commitment to quality that has put Torres firmly on the world map. In 2006 Torres were awarded European Winery of the Year in Wine Enthusiast’s Annual Wine Star Awards.

Torres Vina Sol, as we know it today,was born in 1962 when Miguel Torres produced a small amount of the Parellada variety in the hills of the Upper Penedès. Made from Parellada, a traditional white grape and some Garanacha, Viña Sol is vinified in stainless steel has a distinctive fresh fruitiness.
