Château La Croix du Duc Bordeaux AOC, a well-balanced, fruit-driven red wine that captures the approachable style and timeless appeal of classic Bordeaux. Crafted from a traditional blend dominated by Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, this elegant French red offers ripe berry fruit, soft tannins and subtle spice, making it an excellent choice for everyday drinking or pairing with a wide range of dishes.
Winemaking
Produced using traditional Bordeaux winemaking techniques, the grapes are fermented under temperature-controlled conditions to preserve freshness and fruit purity. Gentle extraction enhances colour and structure while avoiding excessive tannin, resulting in a wine that is approachable in its youth while retaining classic Bordeaux character.
Château La Croix du Duc is a 15-hectare estate located near the Lussac St Emilion wine-growing appellation of Bordeaux. The wine is bottled as a Bordeaux Appellation Contrôlée (AC) and offers some excellent value for money drinking.
The offices are located in the locality of Perruchon in the city of Lussac Saint Emilion. The wines are produced in the neighbouring district, which borders the appellation Lussac is at the end of the rows. The estate has been in the Chollet family’s possession since 1865. EARL Chollet also produces a Lussac Saint-Émilion called Château Roc de Perruchon.
If you’re looking for an authentic Bordeaux that offers excellent quality without the premium price tag, La Croix du Duc is a superb choice. Its ripe fruit profile, approachable tannins and balanced structure make it equally suitable for casual midweek meals or entertaining friends and family. Château La Croix du Duc is a soft, supple and fruity red wine. It has aromas of ripe, red fruits, cherry and raspberry with subtle herbaceous notes and toasty nuances. This is a light to medium bodied wine with more red fruits oni the palate entwined with delicate toasted nuances and smooth tannins.
Drink with red meat dishes and cheeses. Think grilled steaks or chops, stews. It also works well with mature hard cheeses such as Gouda, Parmesan or Cheddar.
Serve at 16–18°C. Decanting for 20–30 minutes will help the wine reveal its full aromatic character.
